Planning Family Portraits is such an important step in documenting your growing family. It is also a wonderful time to reflect on how far you've come and celebrate each family member's unique milestones!


As a parent, it is sometimes difficult to be present all the time, especially since each child seems to become a new version of themselves every year. That's why hiring a Photographer is the perfect way to help slow down time and capture beautiful and authentic family moments!


I'm here to assist you, add fun to the experience, and create something that you and your family will cherish and love to look through years later! A $60 Discount may be applied for scheduling a session on a Weekday, versus a Saturday or Sunday.


Travel: I am located in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, so any transportation charges to surrounding suburbs of McHenry to Arlington Heights are included in your package pricing. However, if the location(s) are over 25 miles from those cities, an additional $0.50 per mile traveled will be charged.


Edits: I take the time to hand-pick the amount of edits to be a satisfactory amount for you. Sometimes your session may go a little longer or it may produce more selections than the estimated amount. If you desire, I can include these extra edits in your final gallery in order to give you the option to purchase extra edits for an additional $4 per photo.

Phillip also captures video?


Yes, both Photos and Cinematic Video will be captured. Typically it's a 70/30% split with the priority being on photographs, but if you want me to prioritize more behind the scenes video, then let me know!

Why hire a Hybrid Photographer and Videographer?

Photos are a necessity, but video brings those memories to life!

While it is important to update your family portraits periodically, it is also a good idea to invest in video as well! I've learned from experience that while I have hundreds of photos of my daughter, I always replay the video clips more often. That's because video contains both the visual dynamics and audio from that person's voice.

When you hear someone's laughter, even years later, it is almost as if they are still in the same room! A short behind the scenes video is included with every package!

FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

Depending on your selected session, you will receive at least the amount listed, which is typically 1 photo per minute. So a 30 minute session will usually produce about 30-40 high quality edited images.

If you would like more, then we can extend the session for another 30 minutes for only $100 more.

How should we dress for our session?

You can dress in your daily style, your Sunday Best, or coordinate together with a color/pattern theme. Ideally, more solid colors or patterns are best for photos.

What’s the best time to have a session?

Ideally the best time is in the Spring, Summer, or Fall before the weather gets too cold, but it is also possible to schedule a Winter Session.

The best time of day is in the evening an hour before sunset!

Do we need to practice for anything?

There's no need to practice, all you will have to do is follow some simple posing prompts, but most of the time, I will will be capturing the authentic moments in between!

If we are taking video, then also come prepared to have a fun intentional conversation with your spouse and family! Laughter and jokes are encouraged!

Can we bring some props?

Yes! If you have an interesting prop or blanket that your kids like, feel free to bring that in the car with you. I usually bring a picnic blanket in case we find a good spot on the grass.

If you have any baby announcement props or family memorabilia, then feel free to bring those as well!

How long is the session?

The Family Sessions are either Half Hour or Full Hour, but it is okay if the session goes a little short or a little long. It all depends on how the energy from the kids is flowing. If we feel that we have enough great photos, then we can always end the session a little early.

If you would like to add additional hours, to either go to a second location or change outfits, then we can discuss adding the extra coverage for only $100 more for each 30 minutes extra.
