Music has always been a part of my life

Finding the right music is important

Music, mainly Instrumental Live Performance, has always been a part of my life. Growing up, I was taught how to play the drums by my father, who is a part-time professional drummer. I later went on to join Jazz Band, Marching Band, Percussion in Orchestra, and a Rock Band in high school. In College, I volunteered in the Worship Band, and after graduation, I played in a Trio Band.

Combined with my love for videography, I appreciate the work that goes into selecting the music that compliments your footage!

Music Approach

There are many ways to tell a story. And one important aspect of storytelling is music selections. For my productions, I am subscribed to a couple of sites that allow for licensable use in wedding videos. These sites are an investment but are necessary in order to improve the overall quality of your films!

In order to best edit your films, I need to select a mixture of cinematic instrumental and uplifting lyrical songs to lay the foundation of your films. I spend time listening and picking out songs that have great potential, and always do my best to find emotional and fun music to create a well-told and well-balanced film.

In order to follow copyright regulations, I must utilize songs from royalty-approved music sites, such as Soundstripe and FyrFly. By properly taking the time to select the music, we can create a great product that can be shared with your family and friends without worrying about infringing on the work of other artists.

Another level of storytelling is Audio Engineering. Besides the music, there are other layers of sounds that can be used underneath the clips which add more depth and realism to your edits. By combining these songs with the footage and live-audio captured at your wedding day, we can create an emotional and impactful story!

My goal is to nail the best songs choices you will love the first time around and I hope you can trust my musical approach in creating a wonderful soundtrack for your films!

Music Subscription Sites

Soundstripe

$239/year

Soundstripe has plenty of quality instrumental and unique sounding songs that can be used to help lay the foundation of the films. I may use 1 song from here per each film.

FyrFly has more traditional artists who produce songs that are popularly listened to on the radio. These songs help raise the excitement of the films. I may use 1 song from here per each film.

MusicBed has creative artists who produce songs that are emotionally impactful and help transition the story along. I may use 1 song from here per each film.

PremiumBeat

$300/Year

If we still can't find a good song selection, there are other subscription sites, such as PremiumBeat or Artlist, that can be subscribed to if requested by the client with an approved service charge.

Music Re-Edits

I have found that couples who hire a videography might have different goals for how they would like to tell their story. If you would like to be more involved with the music selection, I can send you some alternative song choices that could fit as a replacement.

Ideally, we pick songs that are in the same Key, such as D major or C. By picking songs within the same key, the flow of the music will be more seamless. However, this isn't always possible, as every video is unique and might need to shift keys as the storyline switches to a more exciting part or decrescendos to a more cinematic part.

If you would like to be more involved with the music selection, we would like to keep the editing process efficient, so I recommend that we set up a phone call to go over your goals and vision one more time. This allows us to not waste time re-editing to a different song that might get scratched later on in the approval process.

Thank you for your understanding! We are excited to piece together your films and create a family heirloom that you and your family will want to rewatch many years later!
